Laura Vogelzang – I am an Occupational Therapist and the Director of the business.
What does You Therapy Services do?
We offer Occupational Therapy services in the community with the primary goal of keeping people in their own homes and out of institutionalised care. We specialise in home modifications, home automation, equipment prescription, functional assessment, and other housing and support needs assessment. We work with people with severe injury, disability, and chronic disease under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), My Aged Care, and iCare.
Who are your employees / Colleagues?
You will see myself, and Occupational Therapists Daniel McKenna and Neroli Moran walking the corridors of Mint! I also employ several contracting OT’s who I have had the pleasure of working with for years in the home modification space.
What are you most proud about You Therapy Services?
My team. I love how You Therapy has grown organically since I started the business at the end of 2021, and because of this I feel like I am creating a team of authentic, passionate therapists with similar values.
Where do you see You Therapy Services in the future?
My ultimate goal is to be seen as the “go to” building modification OT service in the lower hunter, as this is what my team and I love to do! I see us continuing to grow in this space, creating a supportive, specialist OT team.
What has been your biggest challenge as a business owner?
Learning to run a business! I am an Occupational Therapist first and foremost, so the business aspect does not come naturally to me and there has been a lot to learn. However, I love a challenge and look forward to more learning and growth!
