As Mint Business Centre has expanded in terms of clients and services offered, our growth has also been in our team! We consider ourselves very fortunate to be supported by a group of highly skilled professionals, and we wanted to take this opportunity to formally introduce each member of our team to you.

Emma – Business Director

What led to you working (or applying for a job) at Mint BC?

In 2013, I initially applied for a part-time position at Nineways Business Centre, which was later rebranded as Mint BC. During that same year, my family acquired the business. In 2017, when my family decided to sell, I took the opportunity and purchased the business from them.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

I enjoy the diversity of our clientele and the opportunity to learn more about their work. There are countless remarkable business owners and companies, and I take great pleasure in discovering the unique endeavours people are involved in.

What unique skills do you bring to your role and how do you use them to help our clients?

Over the years, I’ve held various positions across diverse industries, which has equipped me with a versatile skill set applicable to a wide range of situations. Among these skills, I consider communication and problem-solving to be some of my strongest attributes, as they are essential aspects of daily tasks for a business owner.

What are three words friends or colleagues would use to describe you?

Supportive, caring and strong

What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

Oh good lord. I love good food and I like to cook. I like modern Australian, Asian (all of it), Mexican etc etc. I’ll try anything once. I did recently go to Flotilla. It was amazing and is now my favourite place for a special occasion.

If you could meet any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her tenacity and work ethic can’t be matched. The changes she made for women in her lifetime will last forever.

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the future, whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or something else entirely?

Travel. I want to go everywhere and experience as many different cultures as I can.

Sandra – Office Manager

What led to you working (or applying for a job) at Mint BC?

I applied for this job because at the time, it was a great fit for my part-time needs. Giving me the flexibility I wanted and allowing me to put my skills to good use.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

My favourite aspect of working at Mint BC is the wonderful, friendly, and supportive atmosphere.

What unique skills do you bring to your role and how do you use them to help our clients?

My unique skill is my unwavering enthusiasm for learning, and it greatly benefits our clients. I’m always seeking ways to enhance our processes and services, ultimately making our clients’ days smoother and more efficient.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I’m really into magic, but not the tricks and shows – more the spiritual side of it.

What are three words friends or colleagues would use to describe you?

Reliable, honest and hardworking.

What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

I really enjoy a delicious burger.

If you could meet any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Not really an historical figure but I would love to meet Elvis Presley.  I adore his music.

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the future, whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or something else entirely?

My birthday cruise next year.

Shorina – Marketing Manager

What led to you working (or applying for a job) at Mint BC?

I had just given birth to my first child, and my mum mentioned her work was looking for another receptionist (yes – my mum is Sandra!). I then built my way up to Marketing Manager.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

I love that no day is the same. There are so many different clients and businesses that we work with, there are always new tasks to do which is great!

What unique skills do you bring to your role and how do you use them to help our clients?

My marketing background. This allows me to look at the business and working with clients in a slightly different perspective than the rest of the team.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

Most of our clients don’t know that I am also a counsellor and own a lingerie boutique!

What are three words friends or colleagues would use to describe you?

Hard-working, spiritual and independent.

What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

I am a huge foodie! My favourites would be chicken schnitzel and the good-old KFC.

If you could meet any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Britney Spears. I have loved her since I was a little girl, and now after reading her book and learning about her life even more, I think she is incredible!

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the future, whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or something else entirely?

I’m looking forward to moving into the house I’m building!

Michelle – Receptionist

What led to you working (or applying for a job) at Mint BC?

I had recently changed the structure of my own business as a result of Covid-19 & needed a new challenge prior to the birth of my first child.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

I love the inclusivity that Emma & the Mint Brand stands by.

What unique skills do you bring to your role and how do you use them to help our clients?

I am a business owner myself so I understand the dedication and professionalism other business owners are looking for.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I am actually also a University Lecturer in the field of Exercise & Sport Science, specialising in elite youth athletes.

What are three words friends or colleagues would use to describe you?

Empathetic, passionate, dedicated

What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

EVERYTHING! Although I can’t go past a cheese plater.

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the future, whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or something else entirely?

My 8 month old son sleeping through the night – even just ONE NIGHT!

Libby – Receptionist

What led to you working (or applying for a job) at Mint BC?

I was looking to get back into the workforce after the birth of my first child.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

The people. They are amazing people to work with.

What unique skills do you bring to your role and how do you use them to help our clients?

I have a background in psychological science so I am able to bring a different perspective to each role I undertake.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

In 2019, I published a book whilst serving in the Royal Australian Navy. It is a historical book called ‘The ABC of Royal Australian Navy Corvettes’.

What are three words friends or colleagues would use to describe you?

Lovely, caring, diligent

What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

I love a seafood platter!

If you could meet any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be and why?

I would love to meet Turia Pitt, the ultra-marathon runner who was caught in a grassfire whilst competing. I listened to her speak once at a leadership conference and the wisdom she has to share is amazing. Nothing is unachievable for Turia and her mindset is so positive.

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the future, whether it’s a personal goal, a career aspiration, or something else entirely?

Graduating from university in the near future with my family watching on.

Aimee – Receptionist

What led to you working (or applying for a job) at Mint BC?

I was looking for a new challenge and Mint BC was the perfect opportunity for me.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

Getting to know all of the staff and clients, and the Minties at the front desk are a bonus.

What unique skills do you bring to your role and how do you use them to help our clients?

I have worked in a variety of environments that were fast-paced so I am able to switch tasks quickly according to the day and needs of the clients.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I support the mighty Bulldogs in the NRL.

What are three words friends or colleagues would use to describe you?

Smiley, positive, hard-working

What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

Thai, especially pad-sew-ew

If you could meet any historical figure (for the first time or again), who would it be and why?

I look up to my mum, as she had this attitude about her that will always stick with me. No matter how hard things got, she carried herself with such poise and determination and I love her for that.
